Is the FeedingMaster suitable for Shetland ponies?

Updated: Sep 29, 2023

Certainly! The FeedingMaster is indeed a versatile feeding solution, and many Shetland ponies are benefiting from its convenience. Here are some essential considerations:

  1. Height Compatibility: While the FeedingMaster may appear a bit tall for Shetland ponies, it's worth noting that, in practice, many ponies adapt comfortably to it. Some of our customers have found success by creating a small step, using a block or stable mats, to ensure easy access to the FeedingMaster.

  2. Hoof Width Measurement: To ensure your Shetland Pony's safety, it's crucial to measure its hoof width. We recommend a minimum hoof width of at least 7cm. This measurement is essential to prevent any possibility of hooves getting stuck between the bars in case the pony rears up and lands on the FeedingMaster.

  3. Selecting the Right Grid Size: Equally important is choosing the appropriate grid size to accommodate your Shetland pony's narrow snout. Opting for a Small grille ensures a perfect fit.

At Valetudo Horse Products, we prioritize the well-being of your horse, regardless of its size or breed. Our flexible solutions cater to a wide range of equine needs. If you have any further questions or require assistance, please feel free to reach out to us. Your Shetland pony's dining experience is our concern, and we're here to help you make it a positive one.
